Padova, Venice, Treviso and Venetian Viallas
A journey through Palaces, Villas, Wine Cellars and Osterie of Veneto Region

Friday: Arrival – Padova and Arquà Petrarca
Arrival of the participants at Padova and full day dedicated to the visit of the city.  In the beautiful historicalcentre you will be able to admire the Palazzo della Ragione, where in the old days justice was administered, the Battistero all painted by Giusto de’ Menabuoi, the Cappella Scrovegni, which is decorated with Giotto’s frescos, the impressive statue of Gattamelata on horse back by Donatello, and the Basilica of Sant’Antonio, where we can admire the beautiful bronze works of art by Donatello. In the afternoon transfer to Arquà Petrarca and visit to the little medieval town that is considered “the pearl of the Euganean Hills” and that is the place where the famous poet Petrarca lived. Visit to a wine cellar with tasting of typical wines. In the evening transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
 

 

Saturday: The Brenta Riviera and Venice
After breakfast in the hotel, guests will take the coach to Strà and visit Villa Pisani or Palazzo Reale di Strà (the Royal Palace), which, for its imposing beauty, reminds of Versailles… Some of the rooms are decorated by Tiepolo. Following the Brenta Riviera, it will be possible to visit many other villas and ancient Palazzi belonging to the Venetian Patrician families. In the afternoon visit to Venice: Piazza San Marco, Ponte dei Sospiri (Bridge of Sighs), Ponte del Rialto… stop in one of the typical osterie to taste the typical products. In the evening transfer to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
 
Sunday: Treviso

After breakfast, guests will leave for Treviso, visit the city and the Duomo with its beautiful façade and the Baptistery which dates back to the XI century and shows frescos and Byzantine style decorations. In the main square there are many Palazzi to be admired, including the Torre Campanaria and the Palazzo dei Trecento. Stop in one of the many rustic osterie where it is possible to taste the local snacks cicchetti and the local wine. In the evening return.
